Cookie Policy

Effective date: September 26, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on visibilitymesh.com. Amaretta LLC operates the website under the Visibility Mesh brand. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information more broadly, and this page covers only cookies.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Local storage and session storage keep information in your browser in a similar way. In this policy we call all of them cookies. Some are set by us, some by Shopify, which runs our store, and some by the analytics and advertising tools listed below.

Your choices

Our store uses Shopify's cookie banner. Where the banner appears, it asks you to accept or decline cookies used for analytics and marketing, and it records your answer in a cookie called _tracking_consent. When you decline, the Pinterest tag does not load. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity receive your answer through Google consent mode and the Clarity consent setting, and both stop storing their cookies after a decline. Our own measurement pixel sends nothing after a decline.

To change your answer later, delete the cookies for visibilitymesh.com in your browser. The banner appears again on your next visit wherever it applies. Where the banner does not appear, the cookies below are used when a page loads.

If you live in the United States, you can also opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising on our Your privacy choices page.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. If you block the necessary cookies, the cart and checkout will not work. Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting data on any website, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Necessary cookies

These cookies make the store work, so they are set without asking. Shopify sets them, and the purposes and durations come from Shopify's cookie list (read on September 26, 2026).

Name Set by What it does How long it lasts
_shopify_essential Shopify Keeps the store working, including session and checkout information and protection against tampering. 1 year
_tracking_consent Shopify Remembers your answer to the cookie banner. 1 year
cart Shopify Holds the contents of your cart. 2 weeks
cart_currency Shopify Starts your next cart in the same currency after a checkout. 2 weeks
localization Shopify Matches the store to your country. 1 year
shopify_pay Shopify Signs you back in to Shop Pay when you return to checkout, if you use Shop Pay. 1 year

Shopify and Shop Pay also keep a few small items in local storage and session storage to run the cart, the checkout and the Shop sign in.

Analytics cookies

These cookies tell us which pages people read and how they move through the site, so that we can see what is useful and what is not.

Name Set by What it does How long it lasts
_shopify_y Shopify Shopify analytics for the store. 1 year
_shopify_analytics Shopify Holds analytics data for the storefront and the checkout. 1 year
_ga Google Analytics Tells one visitor apart from another. 2 years
_ga_ followed by an ID Google Analytics Keeps track of the current visit. The site can set more than one of these, one for each Google measurement ID in use. 2 years
_clck Microsoft Clarity Keeps a pseudonymous Clarity user ID and its settings for this site. Set by Microsoft, see Microsoft's Clarity cookie list
_clsk Microsoft Clarity Joins the pages of one visit into a single Clarity session recording, which shows how pages are used, such as clicks and scrolling. Set by Microsoft, see the same list
_vm_vid Visibility Mesh Our own measurement pixel. It holds a random visitor ID so we can count returning visits and see which pages they read. A copy is kept in local storage. 395 days
_vm_sid (session storage) Visibility Mesh Groups the pages of one visit for our measurement pixel. Until you close the tab

Durations for Google Analytics come from Google's cookie documentation. Our own Visibility Mesh app also counts visits that arrive from AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Perplexity. It reads the referring website, stores counts only, and sets no cookie.

Marketing cookies

These cookies measure whether our ads and product listings on other platforms lead people to the site.

Name Set by What it does How long it lasts
_shopify_marketing Shopify Holds marketing data for the storefront and the checkout. 1 year
_pin_unauth Pinterest The Pinterest tag groups the actions of visitors that Pinterest cannot match to an account, so that we can measure our Pinterest activity. 1 year

The Pinterest duration comes from Pinterest's tag documentation. Google tags on the site also send store events to Google Merchant Center, for example a product view or a purchase. Those tags work through the Google Analytics cookies listed above.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the cookies on the site change, and the effective date at the top shows the current version.
