Which problems most often keep websites out of search and AI answers?
Both Visibility Mesh studies of 2026 found the same weak spot: the layer of structured facts that tells a machine who a business is and what it sells. We scanned 216 Shopify storefronts on June 28, 2026, and 72 percent of them failed Entity Integrity. They earned less than half of its points. We scored 303 non ecommerce websites in July 2026. Their structured data pillar averaged 35.3 percent of its available points, the lowest of the five pillars. Some websites failed before any of that could be measured. The... Read more...
How do you measure AI visibility?
You can measure four things today. Google reports impressions in AI Overviews and AI Mode, and Microsoft reports citations in Copilot and Bing. Your analytics show visits that arrive from AI assistants. The fourth measure is your own: what assistants say when you ask them the same questions on a schedule. Nobody outside the platforms can see the full set of questions people ask, or why an assistant picked the sources it used. Report the four numbers side by side and do not claim that one caused another. By Margareta... Read more...
Should I buy AI visibility software or hire an agency?
Before you compare dashboards or prices, work out who will change your website, whether that is someone on your team or someone you hire. By Margareta Petrovic, founder of Visibility Mesh, which measures what AI crawlers can read on any website. We published this guide on September 27, 2026. Buy software if your team can make the fixes. If it cannot, hire an agency or a consultant, or a managed service if you want one party to diagnose, change and measure. A report that nobody acts on leaves the website... Read more...
How do I get my website to show up in ChatGPT?
ChatGPT can show and cite your website only if OpenAI's search crawler, OAI-SearchBot, is allowed to fetch it. That means robots.txt has to allow it, and so does your host or CDN. OpenAI's help pages say so, and they add that ChatGPT ranks results on factors OpenAI does not list. Once the crawler gets in, each page has to say plainly what you do. By Margareta Petrovic, founder of Visibility Mesh. I am CISA and CISSP certified, and we measure how readable websites are to AI assistants and publish what... Read more...
